Cornwall Holiday 2006

The cook family headed off to Cornwall for 2 weeks. Although due to traffic problems a 5 hour journey suddenly turned into an 8 hour nightmare! UK weather in August was not too good although we got the best of it - even if we did see a tornado! What a fun packed trip - Adam could not get enough of the beaches - demanding even in the rain that we go! Adam mainly wanted to find crabs under the rocks - which he succeeded in doing especially at Praa Sands. The best beach was at St. Ives - golden sands, beautiful weather made a whole day very relaxing!

Amber loved the sea - only when Daddy carried her in although the whole beach could here screams as the cold waves splashed against us! Many places were visited. The Seal Sanctuary was one of Ambers favourites and Adam loved the Dino-Maize. Cheekily when you enter the maze they advise that if you dont open the map from the envelope you can have £1 off - it only took 2 minutes and the map was out - we were lost!

From the caravan we stayed in you could walk a beautiful walk along the coastal path. 2.5 miles of stunning scenery leading to the very picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith, strawberry cream teas, a fresh fish seller and a toursit shope made up the entire village!

Julie cooked some stunning meals, the Italian Fish Stew my favourite and we found a nice pub in Mullion (The Old Inn) for a few evening meals. We certainly crammed a lot into our trip to Cornwall, we even went Whippet racing!

All in all a great break with such fun!!!!

July 2006

We all went to the cinema at Aylesbury to watch Over the Hedge, it was very funny - Amber was tired though. We also went to the shops and Amber bought presents for her friends Lawrence and Daniel whose 6th Birthday party was on the Sunday. Adam and Amber also got their school reports which were both excellent!

Amber is sporting here new leather sandals that Mummy bought from our friends Helen and Nick.

Clacton 2006

May Day Bank Holiday was yet again the start of the annual Wendover Junior FC trip to Clacton to appear in a tournament. A real Dad/Son bond of beer, football and no Mum! Adam managed to relax the whole time - so did Dad!

The football was great but even better was the weather, the beach and watching Adam collect his football trophy from ex. Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley!

Adams First Fish April 2006

Adam's first fish. Following Father Christmas's visit and delivery of a fishing rod and tackle, we decided to combine Adams first fishing experience with a weekend at Uncle John and Yvettes. My first fish was a tiny stickleback in a net, Adam managed to slightly outdo me by catching a 1lb common carp in Uncle Johns lake. Adam was suprised how wriggly the fish was and also how big and heavy too.

Once news filtered through it wasn't long before everyone was having a go!

Soon Annabel was catching them and Amber even had a go!

I must say that the bait lasted all of 10 seconds in the water before another fish was caught - you could have been catching fish every minute for days, if not weeks!

A great weekend was had by all and thanks to John and Yvette for letting Adam catch his first ever fish!
